Complainant

An individual, or person acting on their behalf, who registers a complaint if they are, or have been in receipt of a Service, or where Social Care Services have exercised or could exercise a power or duty to provide/ seek to secure a service for them and the need, or possible need for that service has come to the attention of Social Care Services.

A complainant acting on the individual's behalf may be a family member, friend, advocate, councillor/ MP. In such cases the individual, where they are capable should agree to their issues being considered under the Complaints Procedures.
